A game I made for the ACM2021 Game Jam.  The theme of which, was "One action, Many uses."

*Yes all levels are beatable*
In 'Too Much Space' your goal is to reach the red diamond in each level. But the only input you have to move your character is the space bar. Your character is still quite capable though, because each spacebar press cycles through 1. Move left  2. Jump  3. Move right  4. Jump.  Once you get a sense of the pattern you'll find that one input is all you need.
There are 15 levels split into Easy, Medium, and Hard. And fair warning, hard means hard.

Thanks for playing and rating!

Good luck gamers.

This game is great, the streamlined visuals, the almost puzzle like mechanics of figuring out how that darned square moves, the added details of mocking text and a speedrun timer. I couldn't get past the "Feeling agile?" level, but everything about this game screams quality.

The awkward movement means this concept probably wouldn't do well past a jam game, but as a proof of concept it's fantastic.

P.S. I also loved this games ability to introduce pretty much no new mechanics because it didn't need them.

now I get it `Too much space` lol xD. I think the game is good, but with more polishing and some sound and visual effects, it would be really awesome. Good luck!

Hey dest1337, I can't figure out how to message people on itch.io, but I wanted to ask if you'd be interested in teaming up for a game jam sometime?
I was in the game jam with you when you made Rectone, and thought it was so cool, and I see that since then, you've made some more awesome games.

It looks like we've both taken a step away from dev for awhile, and I'm hoping you might be ready to jump back into it. Call me crazy, but I think we could make something pretty cool together :)

Message me on Discord if you see this: Thxrst#1906

(If we can't team up, take this as a compliment. Your game design is memorable)
